Dildo
Hey there folks!

Rectum-Shirt-1So remember back this spring, my roommate was doing a fundraiser walk for Crohn's Disease, and I thought it'd be hillarious if she named her team, "Rectum!? Damn Near Killed 'Em!" She didn't want to at first, but I had just built my press, and I finally convinced her to adopt the name by telling her that if she did, I'd design and print her team shirts.

Well, I still wear mine around all the time, and it gets a lot of great looks. Some people kinda stare at it with confusion (I guess the expression, "wrecked him? damn near killed him!" isn't as common as I thought it was), some give it a shy smile (they get it, but think they shouldn't be laughing at something dirty), but most people downright love it. So, I decided that I would print a new batch to try and sell, and I'm happy to say they're finally ready and available!

Rectum-Poster-1They came out great, and printing went a lot more smoothly this time, heh. I've got S, M, L, XL and XXL available. Aaaaaand, while I had the screens burned, I decided to go ahead and knock out a handful of posters, too! The posters look great, too, and printing them was a breeze.

So hey, spread the word about these, show the etsy listing to your friends!

Cheers yall! More stuff always in the works!

Squeezing a Torso Near You!

Yay Kermit
At last! New, from The Shallow End Press--the When You Are Squeezed shirts are NOW AVAILABLE at my Etsy store!!!

The prints came out really well--all the fine details of the original linocut printed true. The shirts are high quality Anvil raglan 3/4 length sleeve shirts, and they're printed with high quality waterbased ink, so the print is SUPER soft on the shirt; you'll never know it's there!

I hope you enjoy wearing them as much as I enjoyed making them!

Just a quick note

I Love you
It might seem strange, but I love going to the post office, and I love mailing things. Most of what I mail these days is art sold on etsy (infrequently). But, while the little extra cash is great, I really love decorating the envelopes before I send them out :) I always do the person's name up real nice, in a banner, and of course I use a wax seal, heh. (This wasn't actually an etsy sale, just some art I needed to send back to a band in Alabama, but you get the idea.)

Ok, now dinner and art. Later.

Oh! And hey, do any of you charlotte folks actually have an interest in getting together to make Ojos de Dios? If so, let me know! I'm thinking... this weekend, or maybe one night next week?

Printmaking
Remember these two linocuts? Well, prior to this week, the first one of each I printed was the only one of each in existence. I never printed more of them, just the first proof for me. But now I've printed up more, and they are available for sale (cheap!) at my Etsy store.

Go buy 'em!

Спокойной ночи!

Heh, oh, also, I finally broke down and bought myself one of these.

Next step: Engraving or etching my own custom seal. BOO YA.

Land Ho!So, I worked on this image some more this weekend. I spraypainted the ground in, and was hoping to have some critters printed on that ground, but didn't quite get that far. Maybe this weekend. See the evening version here.

But, speaking of said critters, lol, I made this. I give you THE SOUTHEASTERN TITBULL!!!

"Behold the rare and majestic southeastern TITBULL!!! This noble (perky, some might say) creature spends its days grazing (er, somehow) in the fields of the south-eastern United States. But beware, this creature has a hypnotizing effect on men, and a number of fatalities are reported each year when some hapless young man wanders into a pasture and is bludgeoned by the Titbull's razor sharp horns. It is not to be trifled with!!!"

Hahahahahaha, this thing is awesome. The sky and ground are spraypainted, the creature itself is screenprinted. I've made 6 of these so far. If you'd like one, it can be purchased (inexpensively I might add) at my Etsy store.

Also, as I've worked on the print up top, I printed my little sun dude all on its own. I've only made three of these so far, and I'm keeping one myself, so there are two available. It, too, can be purchased (inexpensively, too) at--you guessed it--my Etsy store!

One love, y'all,
-P.

Adventures in Breakfast / New On Etsy!

EVIL
So, I wanted to thank everyone who offered insight on yummy things to eat for breakfast! I had to go grocery shopping the other day so I picked up some things to try.

I decided to go with yogurt and granola, and breakfast burritos as an alternative. I already had enough bacon and eggs to last a week, so I just picked up some tortillas, cheddar and jalapeños. Once the bacon's gone--and if this works for me--I'll probably switch to ham or maybe try veggie sausage patties (Boca sausage links are FOUL).

I haven't made the burritos yet, but I have tried the granola and yogurt and wow, that shit is GOOD! I was a little apprehensive about the idea at first, but not only is it delicious, it keeps me energized and full until 2 in the afternoon! Awesomesauce! I got vanilla yogurt, but next time I think I'll go with plain, because the vanilla ends up being so sweet I can only eat about half a bowl of it.

Thanks guys! :)

Oh, also, I have listed some of my I Love you hand cards on my Etsy store. Go buy 'em! :)

Laterz,
-P.

One of a Kind Overprints!!!

  • Jun. 18th, 2008 at 2:01 AM
I Love you
So, there's a trend going on among print shops these days, and that is one-of-a-kind overprints.

Lemme explain that real quick. When you're printing, it's useful to print off your image on some scrap paper to make sure everything's looking right, or use up some excess ink. Instead of using a clean sheet, it's more cost efficient to keep using the same sheets. So you basically have a ton of random images building up on top of each other.

*grin* Now, here's the thing. These sheets... They're literally our throwaway scraps. No thought or intention goes into these things. But, the fine art world being the boiling cauldron of snake oil that it is, someone out there convinced the art-buying public that these things are the hot new item, thus giving printmakers a way of making money off their TRASH.

But, Sometimes these things really do look awesome, heh. I've actually got an overprinted messenger bag I got when I still worked out at that other print shop last fall.

And, that being said, here I offer some overprints of my own, to you. LOL, great sales pitch, huh?

You can purchase them at my Etsy store. Let me know what you think of them!

Ok, I'll list a bunch more tomorrow. I gotta get to sleep now though. Night!
