FAITH NO MORE IS BACK!!!!!!!!!
"Faith No More has always stood out as some sort of unique beast; part dog, part cat—its music almost as schizophrenic as the personalities of its members. When it all worked, it worked really well, even if the chemistry was always volatile. Throughout our 17years of existence, the mental and physical energy required to sustain this creature was considerable and relentless. Though amicable enough, when we finally split, we all followed paths seemingly destined to opposite ends of the universe.
Yet during the entire 10 years that have passed since our decision to break up we've experienced constant rumors and requests from fans and promoters alike. Nevertheless, for whatever reason, none of us kept in regular touch, much less to discuss any possibilities of getting together.
What's changed is that this year, for the first time, we've all decided to sit down together and talk about it. And what we've discovered is that time has afforded us enough distance to look back on our years together through a clearer lens and made us realize that through all the hard work, the music still sounds good, and we are beginning to appreciate the fact that we might have actually done something right.
Meanwhile we find ourselves at a moment in time with zero label obligations, still young and strong enough to deliver a kickass set, with enthusiasm to not only revisit our past but possibly add something to the present. And so with this we've decided to hold our collective breaths and jump off this cliff....
BACK, GOD FORBID, INTO THE MONKEY CAGE!!!
We can only hope that the experience of playing together again will yield results erratic and unpredictable enough to live up to the legacy of FNM.
Who know where this will end or what it will bring up...only the future knows. But we are about to find out!
FAITH NO MORE are:
Mike Bordin, Roddy Bottum, Bill Gould, Jon Hudson and Mike Patton"
I.... might actually be able to see the beast, the men, the legend, live, in concert. Oh sweet monkey jesus. It's almost too much to bear.

So, dig this. There's a huge art festival going on THIS WEDNESDAY, December 10th from 6-10pm at the Neighborhood Theater in NoDa. This is a HUGE event, featuring 90 or so LOCAL artists, plus live performances by local bands, and best of all IT'S FREE!!!
I've been meaning to post this for a while, but I've been so caught up in getting ready for it (and getting a badass poster ready for friday) that I'm just doing it now. I'm actually going to have a booth at this festival, along with my buddy Swink from work. It's going to be pretty badass.
Now, I understand that most of you--my charlotte friends--aren't really into art. I know this. But there's going to be a lot more at this event than just visual art. There's bound to be clothing, jewelry, wood working, and other cool handmade shit, so please, come out and support your local poor creative folks!!
THIS Wednesday, 6-10pm, Neighborhood Theater in NoDa--BE THERE!!!

Alright, so, I've been getting a little bored with my hair lately. I wanted to do something new with it. I'd seen a guy at work keep his hair in check with a t-shirt sleeve, so I gave a similar thing a try. I ripped the sleeve off an old t-shirt and put it on my head. It looked pretty slick, basically like a dew-rag.
But, a few years back, I saw someone with a really awesome head band that was basically a slightly longer tube of elastic fabric. I wanted to make myself something like that, so I did. (Thanks for teaching me to sew, mom!) The three pictures to the upper right are the headband I made. I basically cut a semi-triangular section out of a really soft t-shirt and sewed it together such that I could still get my head through it. It works like a dew-rag, but it's a bit longer. If I'd made the end bit any narrower, I wouldn't be able to fit into it.
So, my question is basically this: does it look good? Should I be wearing this thing in public? Or do I look like a douche?
For comparison, these pictures to the lower left are me in the regular un-modified t-shirt sleeve.
Your thoughts. They are appreciated.
BOO YA.

Oh, and you know what the next logical step to this headband thing is, right? Screenprinting some badass pattern onto them and selling them, of course! Hmmm... Hey Jenn, we could maybe produce the horn headband you've been thinkin' of this way. Unless you want the horn pattern sewn in.

- Music:the shins, then velocity girl. Still, via pandora.
The whole thing happened so fast it almost made my head spin. I volunteered the possibility of doing it, and the next day I was getting a call asking if I could do them for sure, and I said yes. The day after that I was getting the screens ready :)
I was a little nervous, this being my first time flying solo on a project like this, but I surprised myself; I knew exactly what to do in every situation, especially registration, and the printing went off without a hitch. Out of 250, there were less than 10 that actually looked bad. The guys were really happy with how everything came out, and so was I.
I LOVED doing this :) I almost certainly lost money on the project; I originally volunteered to do it for free, but the experience was worth more than money could ever give me. I told the guys that for doing this on the cheap, I want them to give my name to everyone they can who might want this kind of work done,
It really feels like my life just got a huge injection of pure, liquid awesome. Why would I ever do drugs when executing a project like this makes me feel higher than I've ever felt in my life!!!!??? It's like my heart is filled to bursting and my head has literally been spinning with dreams of where this could go.
Thanks guys, for letting me do this for you :)
